Armed with a white swiveling Nemo Armchair by Fabio Novembre donated by Driade and Anima Domus, street artist collaborative UR New York (Mike Baca aka 2ESAE and Fernando Romero aka SKI) transformed the iconic face in their cutting-edge urban industrial style with color, graffiti, and mixed media, and completed it at a live painting event at Pop International Galleries in New York City.
On December 4th, Anima Domus, South Florida’s premiere destination for contemporary Italian home furnishings, will hold an exclusive private event and meet-and-greet with the artists: “Facing the Future: In Support of the Children’s Bereavement Center and Our Community” with catering by Egg & Dart. During the event a raffle will determine the lucky collector who will WIN and take home this unique work of art.
All proceeds collected from the raffle will go toward furthering the mission of the Children’s Bereavement Center, which offers free peer support for children, teens, young adults and caregivers who are grieving the death of a loved one.
“It’s an amazing cause and it hits close to home. We both come from unstable backgrounds and have had to mold our way to where we are now,” says SKI. “Any chance we get to give back through our work interests us. No one did that for us, so we’re trying to set an example for others -- for the youth,” says 2ESAE.
The newly painted Nemo armchair is currently on display at Anima Domus' Design District showroom to coincide with Art Basel festivities. During the week of Art Basel and Design Miami December 5th - 9th in Miami, visit Anima Domus to see the artists of UR New York paint another original Nemo Armchair at a LIVE painting event alongside an exhibition of their artwork artwork in conjunction with Pop International Galleries.
“Doing good for our community, and giving back to a city that we all love so much, is one of the core values of our company as well as the core values of all who are participating in this worthy project,” says Marconi Naziazeni, owner of Anima Domus. “The Children’s Bereavement Center is a very active institution that provides vital support free of charge to many families in a moment of extreme need. They truly need our support. ”
