In his new book, “Fantasy Kick - Leverage the Networking Opportunities of Fantasy Football to Give Your Career the Kick it Needs,” he outlines the best way to utilize this increasingly popular pastime to mix business with pleasure by creating networking opportunities for career advancement. He likens it to the 21st century equivalent of playing golf – a popular pastime in which executives and employees co-mingle to improve their chances of getting promoted or getting a new job.

"For many leagues, the night of the draft is the only time the whole league is physically together,” he said. “Beyond preparing your cheatsheets for your draft, now is the time to learn how to use the league draft to your networking advantage."

Fantasy Football is a game in which the participants (called "owners") each draft or acquire via auction a team of real-life NFL (or college depending on the league) players, and then score points based on those players' statistical performance on the field. Participants typically invest five months studying player stats and reading about the players on their fantasy team, their opponents’ teams as well as the available free agents in their league.

“Fantasy Kick” is available at networking draft kit with each purchase.

The 96-page book provides tips and insight on the pastime, addresses its popularity and shows how it impacts relationships around the office. It also provides interesting statistics on the hobby, how the subject can be used to spur conversations, and outlines what actions and behavior are inappropriate.
