7th annual Fast Casual Executive Summit to address strategic issues facing operators in the fastest-growing segment of the restaurant industry

Fast Casual Executive Summit

The 7th annual Fast Casual Executive Summit takes place in San Diego on Oct. 21-23.

By attending the Summit, fast casual operators will discover new ideas and best practices that will drive their continued success.

More than 100 executives from top fast casual restaurant chains -- including Chipotle Mexican Grill, Five Guys Burgers and Fries, Rubio’s Fresh Mexican Grill, Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers, and la Madeleine Country French Café -- will meet in San Diego on Oct. 21-23 at US Grant Hotel for the 7th annual Fast Casual Executive Summit (#FCSummit).

The Summit features networking and work group sessions designed to foster the exchange of ideas and innovations covering the top strategic issues facing fast casual restaurant operators. CEOs from Camille’s Sidewalk Café, Fazoli’s, Firehouse Subs, McAlister’s Deli, Salsarita’s Fresh Cantina, and Wildflower Bread Company will be among the panelists on the Summit agenda.

Over the past decade, “fast casual” has been the fastest-growing segment of the restaurant industry. By hitting consumer trends head on -- such as demand for healthier menu offerings and more upscale décor -- fast casual brands now account for more than $23.5 billion of the $200 billion restaurant industry.

That strong growth is expected to continue. Technomic, an industry research firm, predicts the fast casual segment will post compound annual growth of 8% through 2015. By comparison, a U.S Census report predicts the restaurant industry as a whole will grow only 3% annually through 2016.

“Fast casual has increasingly been a strong catalyst for the restaurant industry,” said Cherryh Butler, editor of FastCasual.com, an industry news and information portal and organizer of the Summit. “Even major QSR [Quick-Service Restaurant] chains like McDonald’s and Wendy’s are looking for ways to be more appealing to the growing number of consumers who prefer the fast casual experience.”

“By attending the Summit, fast casual operators will discover new ideas and best practices that will drive their continued success,” Butler added.
