In 10th year of operation, Fastener SuperStore experiences strongest growth to date, with sales up over 40% for first half of 2010. President cites operational enhancements and continued focus on customer experience as keys.

Fastener SuperStore carries a full line of fasteners, including machine screws, self-drilling screws, self-tapping screws, thread-cutting screws, and thread forming screws.

"Having a solid and loyal customer base is a great position to be in when the economy becomes volatile. Our customers have trust in the value and service they get from us and we plan on continuing to provide that security to them."

Although the evidence can only be considered "anecdotal", Fastener SuperStore's recent performance suggests that the worst of the economic downturn is ready for the history books. The online fastener distributor experienced 39% growth in the first quarter of 2010 and 45% growth in the second quarter, capped off with 84% growth in June, 2010.

"I can't speak for the rest of the industry, but from our perspective, the Fastener Market is thriving," said Fastener SuperStore founder and President Greg Fields.

Even having just weathered some of the worst economic conditions since the Great Depression, Fields say his company has never experienced negative year-to-year growth during their ten years of operation. Although Fastener SuperStore heeded the dire warnings of the economic downturn, they were largely unfazed by it.

"Naturally, we felt some degree of pressure from the gloomy economic conditions, but all in all it was a pretty indirect impact for us - kind of like a hurricane that veers out to sea at the last moment. We took the threat seriously and found ways to improve ourselves and our operation. Now that we've been through it, we find ourselves stronger and more capable of meeting our customers needs than ever," said Fields.

Asked what kind of adjustments helped Fastener SuperStore weather the approaching storm, Fields offered several examples.

"Enhancing our website is always a priority," he said. "We never stop searching for ways to improve it - whether it be better product searches, access to product information, or just ease of use for our customers."

"We've also invested in business management software from Comparatio, LLC that allows us to further streamline our operations and gives us tremendous visibility into our inventory, sales, and purchasing functions."

"And finally," Fields added, "we've worked harder than ever before on marketing our strengths to existing customers, as well as reaching out to consumers who may not be aware of us yet."

When asked what specific strengths he felt separated Fastener SuperStore from other fastener distributors, Fields had no shortage of answers.

"With almost a decade of operation under our belts, we've learned a lot about what it takes to succeed in this industry. We've built our reputation on great service, quick turnaround, and a customer experience that's hassle free and simple. Repeat business is critical to the success of any company. If you exceed the customers expectations with regards to service, speed and attention to detail, they'll be back."

Fields cites customer loyalty and repeat business as additional reasons Fastener SuperStore was able to thrive in a down market.

"Having a solid and loyal customer base is a great position to be in when the economy becomes volatile. Our customers have trust in the value and service they get from us and we plan on continuing to provide that security to them."

Fields adds, "We're excited about the future. We've proven that we can handle adverse conditions and now we're excited to see how successful we can be in the new, thriving marketplace.

Fastener SuperStore is a privately owned company headquartered in Downers Grove, IL, with offices in Camarillo, CA, and shipping locations across the country.
