This is the best time of the year for shoppers to take advantage of free shipping offers and last minute price reductions on toys, clothing, gadgets and even gift cards as retailers compete for the late holiday gift-buying rush.
Beloit, Wisconsin (PRWEB) December 03, 2012
FatWallet.com, the preferred online resource for millions of smart shoppers, launched its annual Season’s Savings Deals for December holiday shoppers today. On the heels of FatWallet's busiest Cyber Monday ever, this promotion headlines three more weeks of continued store-wide holiday discounts and online coupons. With heavy shopping expected for Green Monday (Dec. 10) and Free Shipping Day (Dec. 17), shoppers will find dozens of doorbuster-like deals at FatWallet such as a free Nook with purchase of any HP notebook or PC. FatWallet’s Holiday Cash Back Sale helps make December savings even better with 200 top retailers increasing their cash back through the end of the year.
According to FatWallet’s holiday online shopping survey of consumers who said they would shop on Cyber Monday in 2012, 96% who shopped on Green Monday in 2011 said they will shop Green Monday again in 2012. Of those, 92% will spend the same or more than last year (40% said more). While 24% said they shopped on Green Monday last year, 24% said they didn’t and a surprising 52% said they have never heard of Green Monday.
On the other hand, 59% surveyed said they plan to shop on Free Shipping Day, while only 35% have never heard of it. As gift cards continue to trend as a top gift, 68% of December shoppers surveyed plan to purchase them as “last minute gifts”. This is up 8% from 2011, where 63% surveyed said they bought gift cards as last minute gifts.
“For those that missed out on Cyber Monday, there is still ample opportunities for shoppers to find great savings right up to Christmas Eve,” said Brent Shelton, FatWallet Spokesperson. “In fact, this is the best time of the year for shoppers to take advantage of free shipping offers and last minute price reductions on toys, clothing, gadgets and even gift cards as retailers compete for the late holiday gift-buying rush.”
Survey Methodology: This study was commissioned by FatWallet and conducted online by Amplitude Research during the third week of November and had 600 total online survey respondents with a maximum sampling error of +/- 4.0 percentage points.
