"The gentle, integrated way of discovering new ways to create and maintain balance outlined in Questel’s Feldenkrais® CDs should be considered an essential element in anyone's plan to maintain a healthy and independent lifestyle,” -Al Wadleigh, GCFP

Al Wadleigh is pleased to announce that he now has Alan Questel’s prestigious Balance CD set available for purchase at the Feldenkrais® Store. Alan Questel trained with Dr. Feldenkrais in the third and last teacher training that Dr. Feldenkrais taught, and has been a Certified Feldenkrais Trainer for over eighteen years. He has taught the Feldenkrais Method® throughout the United States, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand, Europe, Japan and Canada. He is currently the Educational Director for the Feldenkrais® Professional Training Program in Malmo, Sweden.

“Balance,” states Questel, “is a dynamic process which allows us to adapt and respond to the situations in our lives.” Normally, the only time we are aware of balance is “when we lose it.” Through the lectures, Awareness Through Movement® lessons, and the discussions in his eight-CD balance course, Questel gently demonstrates how individualized optimal balance may be obtained through awareness or attention to position and movement, and the recognition of a new range of skeletal, muscular and neurological possibilities.

The lessons include:
Finding the center of balance
Locating and using the hip joint
Positioning the hip for balance in movement
The role of the Sacral Clock
Disrupting Balance and finding it again
Clarifying muscle groups
The proportional distribution of movements
Reliance on skeletal support

Al Wadleigh, Guild Certified Feldenkrais Practitioner® and owner of the Feldenkrais® Store, is particularly delighted to make these Questel’s CDs available because they address so many balance and agility problems for seniors and athletes. According to John Muir Health, a non-profit health care system in California, “one in three adults over the age of 65 falls every year,” These falls can lead to serious injuries involving fractures and head trauma which may seriously disrupt or permanently alter a senior’s way of life. "The gentle, integrated way of discovering new ways to create and maintain balance outlined in Questel’s Feldenkrais® CDs should be considered an essential element in anyone's plan to maintain a healthy and independent lifestyle,” states Wadleigh.

Likewise, the serious athlete can avoid injuries and increase his abilities through the minute balance tuning offered in Questel’s CDs. Whether the athlete is a high-diver, golfer, equestrian or runner, these Feldenkrais® lessons will help him gain new insights and reach higher levels of performance. Questel’s Balance CD set may be obtained from the Feldenkrais® Store.
