Dr. Suheil Muasher, an infertility and IVF specialist in Northern Virginia and Washington, DC, was awarded two distinctions at the 2011 American Society for Reproductive Medicine annual meeting that took place recently in Orlando, FL. He received the ASRM Service Award, given to ASRM members who have met a 10-year milestone for serving on ASRM boards and/or committees, and the ASRM Star Award, a peer-nominated award to ASRM members who have contributed 10 or more consecutive years of presentations at the annual meeting.
At his center for IVF in Virginia, Dr. Muasher offers services in minimal stimulation IVF, IVF with donor egg, intracytoplasmic sperm injection, assisted hatching, cryopreservation of sperm and embryos, and preimplantation genetic diagnosis. As an active member of the ASRM for over 28 years, Dr. Muasher was also one of the originators of the Minimal Stimulation IVF Protocol and an integral contributor to research in embryonic cryopreservation and recognition of Day 3 hormonal evaluations during his time at the Jones Institute.
Dr. Muasher’s dedication to and support of the society also helped him for the endowment of a service award named in his honor. The ASRM awarded the 2011 Suheil J. Muasher Distinguished Service Award to world renowned reproductive endocrinologist Alan H. DeCherney, MD at the annual meeting. Dr Muasher says he is honored that the first recipient of this award is Dr. DeCherney and will continue striving for the highest quality patient care in reproductive medicine.
