Does it really have to take so long for charcoal to get hot enough to cook...or for cord wood to catch? All a fire really needs to burn hotter and faster is AIR. That’s what we’ve done with FiAir — perfected the art of bringing air to fire.

FiAir LLC was established in April, 2012 to develop, market and sell a new grill, hearth and campsite tool that speeds the kindling of wood and charcoal fires. The product — called FiAir™ — is a portable, hand-held, battery-powered blower that produces a controlled and continuous flow of air to rapidly stoke lit coals and logs. The company will begin manufacturing FiAir this fall for shipping in Q1 of 2013.

Changing the debate: charcoal vs. gas
FiAir’s target market in North America includes more than 65 million consumers in the combined fireplace and grill segments. Within that group, FiAir may be of particular interest to consumers who prefer the taste of charcoal and the snap and crackle of real wood fires, but choose gas grills or gas fireplaces primarily to save time. That compromise may no longer be necessary as FiAir turns coals white-hot in 8 to 12 minutes, roughly half the time of traditional techniques. At the hearth, FiAir brings wood fires from first light to full blaze in about two minutes.

Company Founder and Product Developer Alan I. Harris expects the market’s need for speed to be a prime driver in the demand for FiAir.

“For better or worse, we live in an impatient world, even when it comes to how we spend our free time. Does it really have to take so long for charcoal to get hot enough to cook before we get to bite into that grilled burger? Or for cordwood to catch so we can stop coddling the fire and start cuddling in front of it? Leisure time shouldn’t be so tough! All a fire really needs to burn hotter and faster is air. That’s what we’ve done with FiAir — perfected the art of bringing air to fire.”

True portability indoors and out
At just under 9 inches in length and weighing less than 4 oz., FiAir will be the only battery-powered blower on the grill and fireplace accessories market designed to be both easily portable and equally appropriate for use at the hearth, patio, campsite or tailgate party. FiAir also contrasts with competitive blowers in its compact design and powerful motor to create continuous airflow as opposed to products that require users to blow into a tube, crank by hand or plug into an electric power source.
