Zayo adds eighty sites and sixty-three fiber route miles to existing Indianapolis metro network.

We plan to continue to make significant investments in partnership with our customers to ensure the infrastructure is in place when and where they need it.

Zayo Bandwidth, a regional provider of fiber-based bandwidth solutions for carrier, enterprise and government customers, announced today that it will be adding approximately eighty cell towers and commercial buildings to its network in the greater Indianapolis metropolitan area.

As mobile service providers deliver a full suite of Long Term Evolution (LTE) services, fiber-based bandwidth solutions are emerging as an absolute requirement. Fiber-supplied capacity ensures sufficient bandwidth is available and next generation technology is enabled to meet long term demand.

"Our investment in Indiana exemplifies Zayo's commitment to provide next generation Ethernet and traditional TDM services simultaneously in support of ever-expanding bandwidth demands across the mobile industry," said Chris Murphy, VP Sales and Business Development.

Zayo's expansion into Indianapolis is their third large-scale Fiber-to-the-Tower (FTT) deployment. Partnering with leading wireless providers, Zayo continues to be at the forefront of the evolution and a market leader in FTT deployments. In addition to expanded cell tower and commercial building coverage, this deployment adds approximately sixty-three new route miles to the already expansive 2,752 route-mile Zayo network in the state of Indiana.

When fully implemented, this deployment will help enable high-speed, third-generation (3G) wireless network services in a significantly less expensive manner, as well as create a true alternative access service for businesses in the greater Indianapolis metropolitan area.

"Zayo Bandwidth expanded its next generation FTT service to over 1000 cell sites nationwide. We are pleased to support our wireless customers via the extension of Zayo's underlying infrastructure," said Brad Cheedle, SVP Sales and Customer Solutions. "We plan to continue to make significant investments in partnership with our customers to ensure the infrastructure is in place when and where they need it."
