The USA Field Hockey Futures Program is the training ground for "future" Olympic stars. Futures was founded in the early 1990's with the goal to regionally develop the best field hockey players for the sole purpose of identifying talented future Olympic level athletes and to overall strengthen the level of the sport throughout the United States.
Rebecca Begley, Wheaton College Head Field Hockey Coach and Nike Camp Director, shares her opinion on the Futures program, "One of the benefits of going to a Nike Field Hockey Camp is our relationship with USA Field Hockey and our ability as a collegiate coach and Nike camp director to make referrals to the Futures program. Many of our campers at Wheaton College take advantage of this great opportunity and get tested while they are at camp. The anticipation of who was selected is always high by the end of the week. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to train with some of the country’s top coaches and be a part of the USA Field Hockey Futures program."
Nike Field Hockey Camps are designed to help players, ages 10-18, develop athletically. Key components to each camp include: mastering fundamental skills; experiencing lots of game competition; making friends; falling in love with the sport of field hockey. The goal is to stimulate a love for the game in young athletes by showing them how to accelerate their own progress and success.
