Fifteen Digital helps charity with social media

A national children’s charity based in Stoke-on-Trent has been given some handy hints on reaching a global audience from a local internet company, as part of an on-going partnership with the charity.

Caudwell Children is a dynamic and forward thinking charity with a desire to help as many people as they possibly can, if we can support their work by sharing some of our expertise then we’re more than happy to help

A team of fundraisers from Caudwell Children attended a special workshop on Social Media skills for the Third Sector, delivered by Sarah Mountford of internet marketing company, Fifteen Digital. The bespoke workshop taught the charity team how to communicate with an audience of millions using popular Social Media tools like Facebook and Twitter.

Head of Public Relations for the charity, Ben Sutcliffe, said: “We have been using Social Media for a few years but were never sure whether we were making the most of it. That was until Fifteen Digital kindly stepped in and offered to support the charity by helping us develop this area of our marketing.”

“As a charity it is crucial that we find the most cost effective ways of promoting what we do, while still reaching as many people as possible. This is important both for fundraising and to find more children that we could potentially help. Used correctly, Social Media lets us do both of these with no additional cost.”

The special course took place on Monday 19th March at the Moat House Hotel on Festival Park, with 15 charity staff and volunteers attending to learn more about practical ways to use Social Media.

The course comes on the back of a Twitter campaign launched by the charity and Fifteen Digital last month called @imluckybecause, which encourages disabled youngsters to express themselves and helps increase awareness about disability.

Sarah Mountford, Business Development Manager at Fifteen Digital, commented: “We were delighted to get involved in the ‘I’m Lucky Because…’ campaign as it provided the business with a practical way of helping the charity and young disabled people.”

“Working with the charity inspired me and the team to do more and we’re pleased to be able to continue the partnership with the Social Media skills workshop. Caudwell Children is a dynamic and forward thinking charity with a desire to help as many people as they possibly can, if we can support their work by sharing some of our expertise then we’re more than happy to help.”
