The new website will help us reach more people and have a bigger impact on the sport of figure skating.
Madison, WI (PRWEB) February 23, 2013
In the early morning hours of Thursday, February 1, educational figure skating video website iCoachSkating.com Founder Trevor Laak successfully performed a major website upgrade. The website was down for a little more than 3 hours during the upgrade and maintenance. iCoachSkating.com is the premier online training resource for figure skating coaches, adult figure skaters, and skating families. iCoachSkating.com provides video training on "how to figure skate" and "how to teach figure skating." Training videos cover a broad range of topics, including figure skating moves, figure skating jumps, and figure skating spins.
The development process for the new site took over 12 months to complete and as noted by those first to try out the new site was well worth the wait. “Our subscribers were my inspiration for the effort that went into the new site,” said Laak. “The site improvements and new features are largely based on subscriber feedback.” A team of software and web designers met the challenge of creating a more user friendly product. The new site offers users a convenient login option, faster site loading times, improved navigation, and a convenient table of contents for the vast video archive of figure skating jumps, figure skating spins, and other figure skating moves. “We upgraded the website to improve the user experience, primarily with improved speed, a better login procedure, and more intuitive site navigation. We also upgraded to premium software components and hosting to ensure the highest website uptime in the industry,” said Laak
The new login process allows subscribers to land on a page (by following a link or visiting from a search engine), log in on that page, and stay right there to see the video content. The new website operates on a faster server, has added pages, and has updated navigation features and more organized categories that make it possible for subscribers to really dig deeper for greater detail about the figure skating moves that interest them most.
In the coming year, existing subscribers will notice more analysis videos each month. These analysis videos are often created with Dartfish software and allow in-depth and frame-by-frame observation of skating skills such as ice skating jumps. "We've had about 25 analysis videos posted in the last 4 years but we'll post almost that many new ones in the coming 12-18 months," said Laak. In the coming year, iCoachSkating.com will also be adding new expert figure skating coach presenters. And most existing presenters on the site will continue to provide more ice skating tips. Subscribers joining the site for the first time will quickly see how iCoachSkating.com has effectively become the best educational resource for online figure skating instruction.
One of the key aspects that sets iCoachSkating.com apart from other figure skating educational resources is the high level of involvement from subscribers in future content creation. Trevor Laak actively engages subscribers for feedback and ideas for future videos on topics that interest them or areas they feel they need more detailed resources. Laak said, “We're continually striving to provide the best instructional figure skating videos. And that's been our goal from the beginning. The new website will help us reach more people and have a bigger impact on the sport of figure skating." iCoachSkating.com is dedicated to being the industry leader for online educational training for both coaches and skaters and the new site firmly places it as the foremost provider.
