From superheroes to comedies, the list of the top 5 movies seen by movie fans was recently revealed by the movie social site, Filmbuffet.

A movie community where fans can review movies, rate films, and create and share their own movie catalog.

No one genre dominates the movies most watched list

Sometimes the movies that earn the largest following are not the big box office winners or the ones critics loved. Whether on the big screen or a little one, there are a few films that more movie fans have seen. The top five films that avid movie fans have seen was recently released by Filmbuffet, a social networking and movie cataloging site.

The list features movies that appeal to movie fans of all ages. Ranging from animated films to adult comedies, the top films seen range from those released in 2011 to a film dating back to 1994. “No one genre dominates the movies most watched list which really shows the diversity of our membership,” states Timothy Stevens, CEO of Filmbuffet.

To date, the top five movies seen by members of Filmbuffet include:

Bridesmaids (2011) – Winner of the 2011 AFI Movie of the Year Award, Bridesmaids was one of the top 25 worldwide grossing films in 2011 and one of the films that most Filmbuffet members have seen.

The Hangover (2009) – A Golden Globe winner and the second comedy on the list of movies that the majority of Filmbuffet members have seen, this flick follows a group of friends on a 24-hour stag party in Las Vegas.

Forrest Gump (1994) – A 6 time Oscar winner, Forrest Gump is one of the favorite and most watched films by Filmbuffet members.

The Dark Knight (2008) – Whether fans of Batman or the Joker, The Dark Knight is one of the movies the fans of film have seen. The film has also earned a spot on the top 10 ten favorite films selected by Filmbuffet members.

Up (2009) – The winner of two Oscars, this animated Disney Pixar film appeals to audiences of all ages. Featuring Carl, a 78-year-old widower reminds movie fans that a person is never too old to pursue a life of adventure.

Movie fans can keep track of all the movies they’ve seen and those they plan to see on Filmbuffet. Becoming a member is free and easy.
