The SunTrust Foundations Center for Financial Education at Wake Technical Community College celebrates the successful completion of the inaugural community financial literacy campaign.

The event will share results from the program, issue awards to those involved and students will speak about the program. Leaders at Wake Tech, students and community leaders will be in attendance.

This event is taking place April 26th at 1:00 - 2:00. This event will take place at SSB Conference Center Wake Tech Main Campus (9101 Fayetteville Road Raleigh, NC 27603).

Incoming students expressed concerns about their economic futures. The Center for Financial Education was established to help students alleviate these concerns and give them the training that can help them make sound financial decisions for a promising future.

The financial education initiative at Wake Tech employed multiple touch points, contest, campus promotions, and modern marketing techniques to maximize campaign benefits. It was designed to serve a diverse student body. The empirical data gathered at each phase creates a best practices model that other universities, colleges, and organizations can emulate.

Wake Tech is fully committed to designing a comprehensive financial education initiative for prospective students, current students, staff, and faculty. The planning, implementation and assessment of the financial literacy program is a collaborative effort between Wake Tech’s administration, Foundation Office, GED/ABE Programs, Student Activities Office, Financial Aid Office, Promotions & Marketing and Curriculum Education Services. The college is dedicated to providing this holistic financial education initiative in order to increase financial literacy and allow participants to achieve financial freedom and empowerment.
