While the direct flight is very important for business and leisure travel from the region, the service also means that Finger Lakes Wine Country is more accessible than ever to travelers around the world.

While the direct flight is very important for business and leisure travel from the region, the service also means that Finger Lakes Wine Country is more accessible than ever to travelers around the world.

“The number one request I get from our community for new service is for a direct flight to New York City,” said Ann Crook, Director of Aviation at the Elmira Corning Regional Airport. “I’m delighted to say that we have done it! This new flight to JFK International Airport is the most recent addition to Delta’s all-jet service at Elmira Corning Regional Airport. Delta’s commitment to Elmira Corning will open Finger Lakes Wine Country, New York to the world.”

“We have been working for a long time to bring service from New York City to Elmira Corning Regional Airport,” added Tom Santulli, Chemung County Executive, echoing the time and effort that has gone into this long awaited addition to regional travel. “This once daily flight will be utilized by both business and leisure travelers, including those travelling internationally.”

“Finger Lakes Wine Country will be both nationally and internationally accessible as a world-class wine region,” stated Morgen McLaughlin, President of Finger Lakes Wine Country Tourism Marketing Association. “New York City is a major market for Finger Lakes Wine Country and to have direct service makes traveling to our region much easier and convenient for their residents. In addition, New York City is an international gateway for travelers from around the globe.”
The service to and from JFK to ELM will be once a day on a 50-seat CRJ regional jet operated by Pinnacle Airlines. The flight from ELM to JFK is one and a half hours.
