FirmGreen is honored to be selected for this trade mission as a leader in renewable energy," said FirmGreen CEO Steve Wilburn. "As we expand operations from the domestic market with the export of equipment and services, this trip could not be timelier."
Newport Beach, CA (PRWEB) April 09, 2013
FirmGreen Inc. (FirmGreen), a renewable-energy company based in Newport Beach, Calif., announces that it was selected to participate in a trade mission to Egypt, April 13-15, led by Acting Deputy Under Secretary of Commerce for International Trade Ken Hyatt. FirmGreen is one of nine U.S. companies that will send a delegate on the multi-sector trade mission, intended to further develop the long trade relationship between the U.S. and Egypt.
“This trade mission reiterates the United States’ commitment to deepening our long trade relationship with Egypt and to growing the already strong connections between our respective business communities,” stated Ken Hyatt. “The participating U.S. companies are eager to better understand the challenges and opportunities to doing business in Egypt, and we hope this mission helps pave the way for mutually beneficial partnerships for these companies in the future.”
"FirmGreen is honored to be selected for this trade mission as a leader in the renewable energy sector," said FirmGreen CEO Steve Wilburn. "As we expand our operations from the domestic market to a global market with the export of equipment and services, this trip could not be timelier. We look forward to gaining insight into the opportunities for developing clean, renewable energy projects in Egypt."
The U.S. delegation includes representatives from a diverse group of industries, with companies that offer a broad range of products and services, including information technology, construction, renewable energy, and security. Firms participating in this trade mission will gain market insights, make industry contacts, solidify business strategies, and advance specific projects with the goal of increasing U.S. exports to Egypt.
The United States is Egypt’s most important trading partner, with one fifth of Egypt's imports originating in the U.S. The U.S. receives about one eighth of all Egyptian exports; this accounts for less than one tenth of one percent of total U.S. imports. In 2012, trade between the two nations totaled $8.4 billion.
In February 2013, Deputy United States Trade Representative Miriam Sapiro and Egyptian First Under Secretary of Industry and Foreign Trade and Head of the Commercial Service Anwar Elsahragty met to discuss expanding U.S.-Egyptian trade and investment ties. The U.S. and Egypt committed to greater cooperation on economic and trade issues, and specific actions to cooperate in the areas of small-and medium-sized enterprise development.
This trade mission advances President Obama’s National Export Initiative which aims to double U.S. exports by the end of 2014, supporting economic and job growth. Please visit http://www.export.gov/trademissions for more information.
