"Each personal trainer with FitOrbit takes the guesswork and trial-and-error out of fitness and weight loss,” says Jake Steinfeld of Body By Jake Global

A survey by online personal training and meal planning service FitOrbit illustrates that expert monitoring and guidance from a real personal trainer - over the internet - works for users seeking to lose weight. One hundred randomly selected users, whose primary fitness goal when they started with FitOrbit was to lose weight, were surveyed regarding their experiences and weight loss to date, using their FitOrbit online personal trainer and customized workout and meal plans. Three-quarters of users surveyed reported positive weight loss with FitOrbit.
According to survey responders, users who join FitOrbit with a goal of losing twenty-five pounds or more, on average see sixteen to eighteen pounds of weight loss in their first four months, a sustainable and healthy rate of about one pound of weight lost per week. While users who follow their FitOrbit online personal trainer’s customized workout and meal plans regularly were reported as being 79% more likely to meet their weight loss goals.
FitOrbit Founder Jake Steinfeld of Body By Jake Global says, “FitOrbit works because you get answers from a real professional who is dedicated to your individual fitness goals. Each FitOrbit online personal trainer takes the guesswork and trial-and-error out of fitness and weight loss, and, sticks by your side every day to make sure you actually hit your goals!”
Online personal training and meal planning is recognized as the evolution of a fitness and wellness centered lifestyle, as future consumers “will want fitness to be shaped around them. They will ask our industry to become more people-centric,” according to a recent Nielsen-researched White Paper published by Les Mills, Inc.
With today’s busy, fragmented schedules, and no time to carve out a gym visit, online personal training - by real personal trainers - is an increasingly popular option.
The trend towards “always on” connectivity has come full force to the fitness industry. The Les Mills White Paper states, “When consumers can raise their heart rate in their living rooms or offices with an engaging, energetic and sociable online experience, ‘fitness’ will less often be defined by traveling to the gym to pump iron.” According to fitness industry group IHRCA, one in four members quits a gym within the first year.
This is where online services like FitOrbit come into play: by bringing the human touch, daily motivation and monitoring from a real personal trainer together with the ease of access, affordability and extensive content of the internet.
One FitOrbit user surveyed stated anonymously, “FitOrbit has helped me learn new exercises and how to use the equipment I've got at home. My trainer Mike is great! He's also made me aware of little things I can do with my diet on a daily basis. I love having someone to guide me online and who responds quickly. I feel I have to be accountable to someone who cares about my progress.”
Behavioral monitoring of exercise training has been shown to improve compliance by 65-70%, according to Exercise Physiologist Carl Foster, Ph.D., FACSM, a member of the FitOrbit Advisory Council. The combination of expert workout and meal monitoring and guidance from a live personal trainer establishes FitOrbit's overall fitness and weight loss goal success rate for users at 76%.
The survey also showed that the majority of users say their FitOrbit online personal trainer - and the ability to communicate with that trainer anytime - is their favorite thing about FitOrbit.
FitOrbit offers a free quiz that matches users to the best personal trainer for them. Insight from FitOrbit's quiz responses suggest the four most popular personalities for online personal trainers are a Buddy (21%), Drill Sergeant (20%), Cheerleader (19%), and Motivational Speaker (15%).
Steinfeld says, “listen, yelling doesn’t work for everyone and neither does coddling. The right personality match is the key to a successful long-term training relationship".
FitOrbit takes the proven formula of the one-on-one trainer-client relationship online, bringing unprecedented efficiency, along with new business opportunities to the personal trainer, and accessible, flexible, and affordable expert personal training to the consumer. FitOrbit personal trainers deliver a customized workout and meal plan to clients on an individual basis once a week. This plan costs the client as low as $10 per week.
