Oneida Ltd., a division of EveryWare Global, Inc. and world leader in the tabletop industry, proudly launches programs in honor of Hunger Action Month. With nearly 49 million people in America facing hunger, including 1 in 5 children, it is a very serious problem in the United States today. Oneida is immensely proud to partner with the Sodexo Foundation and the Food Bank of Central New York to champion the cause. Oneida’s proceeds to these organizations work to support innovative initiatives from nutrition programs and community service activities to providing meals and emergency food benefits.
“Our goal is to reduce the number of families and children at risk of hunger by raising awareness and giving back to aid the success of hunger fighting programs,” commented Amy Gebhardt, Oneida’s Director of Public Relations. “Last year, Oneida was proud to generate donations exceeding $10,000. We are dedicated to growing these incredible efforts each year.”
In this year’s campaign, Oneida’s initiatives include activities to benefit both national and local communities. With the third annual Pass the Plate program, the Company will donate a percentage of sales to the Sodexo Foundation. “Sodexo Foundation works to raise awareness about childhood hunger and to provide solutions by engaging youth,” said Robert A. Stern, chair, Sodexo Foundation. “It is also fortunate enough to have the added support of Sodexo’s valued vendor partners, like Oneida and signature programs like Pass the Plate.”
In Oneida’s retail store, the Spoonful for Hunger program contributes 10% of all sales on Wednesdays from September through December, to the Food Bank of Central New York. Joining ranks with local community members, Oneida will also coordinate a four-week food drive to raise non-perishable donations for the Sherrill, New York food pantry. Finally, Oneida Ltd.’s warehouse locations and brand partner Anchor Hocking will duplicate food program donation efforts in their respective, local communities.
With hunger relief initiatives reaching across local, state and national levels, Oneida is committed to the missions set forth by both the Sodexo Foundation and Food Bank of Central New York to address hunger in America. These partnerships allow Oneida to aid in creating a positive impact across the communities these organizations serve.
