Too few cars means staff are not able to deliver effective community-based services, and too many ties up working capital. The key measurement is utilization rates.

Lingo Systems is pleased to announce the launch of its newest product, Fleet Booking System - a web-based online fleet management system with an integrated bookings module.
"The one question every fleet manager has is, do I have too many cars in our fleet or not enough?" says Kurt Lingohr, Managing Director of Lingo Systems. "The business will say they need more cars, yet a glance out the window towards the parking bays will show they're sitting there, unused."
"Too few cars and staff are not able to deliver effective community-based services, and too many ties up working capital. The key measurement is utilization rates," says Lingohr.
"Feedback we're receiving from clients is that they want a simple, easy-to-use fleet booking system for their staff to use. Many organizations use Outlook which is okay for just booking, but falls short of reporting and associated fleet management tasks."
The Fleet Booking System from Lingo Systems enables staff to see which cars are available to book, using simple online calendaring. Staff can make a one-off reservation or a recurring reservation.
But with vehicle usage comes inevitable side effects, such as traffic infringement notices, damage, and dealer servicing.
"Our system builds upon the booking side of things and makes life easier for the fleet manager, with automated servicing reminders and centralized registers for infringements, damage, driver licencing, leasing reviews, serviceability checks and CO2 emission reporting," says Lingohr. "We have essentially extended the booking system into total fleet management."
"Most fleet management software packages approach the fleet from a capital asset perspective," says Lingohr. "Our system approaches the fleet from a staff perspective - they need a car to use at a given time on a given day."
The Fleet Booking System is being offered to clients either installed on their own infrastructure and linked to network authentication, or as a fully hosted cloud solution.
"The product has been very well received by our foundation clients, including Melbourne Health, Eastern Health and Calvary Health here in Australia," says Lingohr.
