We have been getting a lot of feedback from our subscribers saying that they wanted more time to purchase the deal of the day
Chicago, IL (Vocus) March 17, 2010
FlyCoupon, “Where Deals Fly Everyday” announces that it has extended the period of time subscribers can purchase its deal of the day. The group discount shopping Web site, http://www.FlyCoupon.com launched in late January of this year and initially allowed subscribers only one day to purchase the deal of the day. Subscribers will now have five full days.
“We have been getting a lot of feedback from our subscribers saying that they wanted more time to purchase the deal of the day,” said Steve Shlagman, one of FlyCoupon’s founders. “In many instances, we are also seeing people return to the site to purchase the same deal because they had been so pleased the first time around.”
Each week day FlyCoupon emails its Chicagoland subscribers free of charge one amazing deal that offers 40 to 80-percent off local area restaurants, recreational facilities, spas, salons, concerts, retails shops and more. When enough people purchase the offer, everyone receives the deal. If the minimum is not reached, then no one gets the deal and the subscriber’s credit card is not charged.
Recent deals have included $20 for $45 worth of food at King Crab Tavern and Seafood Grill in Chicago, $20 for $50 of pick up and delivery dry cleaning service from Drive Cleaning (Chicagoland area) and $25 for a $50 women’s haircut with blow dry and style at Dye N Style in Chicago.
Deals are only activated if a certain number of people buy the deal; therefore, subscribers are encouraged to share the deal with friends and family through popular social media sites such as Facebook and Twitter. FlyCoupon can be “fanned” on Facebook at facebook.com/FlyCoupon or followed on Twitter @FlyCoupon.
About Fly Coupon:
Fly Coupon was founded by three Chicago neighbors in the summer of 2009 during their annual block party. After much debate about the current economy, and the value of the all mighty dollar, they came up with an idea that if they banded together and joined forces, they could all save a lot of money while enjoying their city at a discount. Quickly they realized that countless others would also want to join the group and as the group grew, there would be safety in numbers. The next step was to get the business to agree to discount their prices for just one day, if they promised a lot of people would purchase the deal. The owners agreed to our concept and FlyCoupon was launched.
Using “group or collective” buying power, FlyCoupon is able to offer unbeatable deals on a daily basis for its subscribers. Their model is simple; they offer consumers great deals by guaranteeing businesses a minimum number of customers. If the minimum is not reached, the consumer’s credit card is not charged, and the business owner pays nothing.
