With a commitment to continuously invest in machinery and technology, Strouse has acquired the Flex 1515-S Flash Cut press from ATOM. This new piece of equipment expands Strouse's capabilities for adhesive gaskets and foams as well as the ability to cut through thicker and denser materials.

"This machine provides state of the art computerized cutting to tight tolerances," says Mike Schaefer, Production Manager at Strouse. "Short set-up times, no dies to purchase, and a larger format up to 59 inch x 59 inch parts" will be very beneficial to our customers.

This investment expands Strouse's capabilities to produce more cost effective solutions for customers. Sample Express is very popular for engineers that are testing adhesive solutions. With the ATOM flash cutter, a die or tooling is not needed, greatly reducing the time and cost. This is especially true for shorter runs and trials. Oftentimes design changes need to be made to sample parts to ensure functionality. With a simple fix to the CAD drawing, the part is ready to be produced, saving customers both time and money.

"Once drawings are approved they can be configured for use with the Flash Cutter with no dies required," says Schaefer. Dies can often take up to a week to purchase and ship for use on press.

Strouse's vision is to be a leader in the custom adhesive solutions industry through strategic investment in sophisticated technology. Strouse aims to have the widest range of adhesive die cutting capabilities in the industry. As the industry continues to grow, especially in the medical, electronics, and automotive sectors, Strouse is positioned to serve each industry with the most advanced cost effective solutions.
