Arrowsight (http://www.arrowsight.com) has introduced a Food Defense Program that provides food processors, meat producers and bottlers with a solution for reducing the risk of intentional acts of food and beverage contamination.

Developed in collaboration with ADT Security Services, Inc., Arrowsight's food defense program focuses on monitoring high-risk storage areas that experts agree could be a target of intentional contamination.

"Arrowsight offers manufacturers the ability to identify and respond to security breaches in time to prevent a potential contaminant from entering the public food supply," says Arrowsight CEO Adam Aronson. "We add an additional layer of security and perpetual monitoring that deters workers from violating protocols and helps safeguard our clients' brands, products and customers."

A typical Food Defense installation includes video cameras, digital video recorders (DVRs), motion detectors, RFID badges and card readers installed around highest risk areas inside a plant. This technology is supported by 24/7/365 remote video auditing by Arrowsight.

Once equipment is installed, Arrowsight monitors high-risk areas for any unauthorized entries. Auditors also verify that authorized workers are performing in compliance with standard operating procedures. If any non-compliance is detected, Arrowsight notifies plant managers via emails that include hyperlinks to the examined video.

Aronson added, "This is a very cost-effective and practical service that processors can now use to ensure that their facilities are protected from deliberate acts of contamination. Our Food Defense Program can close any remaining security gaps inside a plant and mitigate the possibility of contaminated product leaving the plant."
