ACityDiscount is planning an event-filled day on June 2 to say ‘thank-you’ to our loyal customers, and invite restaurant industry professionals and the public to see all the equipment, appliances, and kitchen tools we have to offer.

ACityDiscount management and staff will celebrate the grand opening of their new Atlanta restaurant equipment showroom on Thursday, June 2, 2011 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at 6286 Dawson Blvd. in Norcross, Georgia 30093.

To introduce foodservice industry professionals and the public to the new showroom, ACityDiscount has planned a fun-filled day, beginning at 11:00 a.m. with a ribbon-cutting ceremony with Lynette Howard, Gwinnett county district 2 commissioner, Alan Durham, Gwinnett county economic development manager, Nick Masino, vice president of economic development and partnership Gwinnett, Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce, Chuck Warbington, executive director, Gwinnett Village Community Improvement District, and John Stack, ACityDiscount CEO. Following the ribbon-cutting ceremony, 706 Charles Street Catering will serve attendees lunch. A Knife Skills Competition between local culinary students, and sponsored by Mercer Cutlery who are donating first, second and third place prizes, will start at 1:00 p.m. The day will conclude with a drawing of multiple giveaways at 3:00 p.m. and an outdoor celebration featuring SJ Wood Fired Pizza, a locally operated food truck, and drinks. Giveaways including a Scotsman self-contained ice machine, PGA Golf Championship tickets, Atlanta Braves tickets, a commercial-grade outdoor gas grill in your favorite college team colors, restaurant gift certificates, the Gwinnett Braves’ mascot Chopper will draw home game tickets, plus much more for those in attendance.

On May 31st and June 1st, ACityDiscount will host our manufacturer representatives for Ask The Pro foodservice industry product training. This is a great opportunity for foodservice business operators to obtain personal advice on products suitable for their business, ask a question to get the most out of the equipment they already own, or tips on preventative care and maintenance to increase the longevity of their equipment investment.

ACityDiscount has based its foodservice equipment business in Atlanta for 38 years. ACityDiscount recently moved from their original Murphy Avenue location in southwest Atlanta, to a 60,000 square foot building in Norcross. The new building features a 30,000 square foot showroom displaying new and used commercial cooking equipment, refrigeration & ice machines, professional kitchen tools, high-end residential appliances, a used equipment purchasing and testing area, warehouse with dock for customer pick-ups and freight deliveries, and staff offices.

ACityDiscount moved its 35 full-time employees to Norcross in February 2011. Since then, the company has been busy filling the showroom with thousands of pieces of new and used restaurant equipment and supplies. The company has already hired two new employees, and plans to keep this momentum going throughout 2011, by adding more new jobs, expanding its product lines, and increasing revenue.
