“Proceeds from the event will be used to continue progress in our Countdown to Connectivity campaign, which will lead to 6.5 new miles of trails in every part of Allen County. In southwest Fort Wayne where the Trailblazer will be held, we’re working to fill in gaps in the trails along Covington and Engle Roads, which will greatly enhance the safety and viability of these corridors. When completed, the Countdown to Connectivity projects will link people to the Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo, Glenbrook Square, several schools, parks, and many more retail and residential areas that are currently isolated” said Lori Keys, executive director, Fort Wayne Trails, Inc. “Public and corporate participation in events like this year’s Trail Blazer is vitally important to continuing connections like these and to the future quality of life in Ft. Wayne.”
