Fovean is proud to announce that the company has been selected as a semifinalist in the world’s largest and most successful cleantech accelerator program. Fovean and other select semifinalists were selected from a talented pool of more than 100 cleantech entrepreneur teams from across California, Hawaii, and Nevada that applied to enter the western region competition this year.
Fovean will now compete for regional prizes which will lead to the national level for a grand prize of up to $250,000 in cash and services, and an overall prize chest of nearly $1 million. Starting immediately, and over the next six months, Fovean will receive coaching from the Cleantech Open network of talented business mentors, one-on-one consulting with specialists, an intensive “business boot camp” at the Cleantech Open National Academy, and extensive local development events, training and materials.
Dr. Ross Miller, the inventor behind Fovean's technology, notes that "Fovean is honored to be selected as a semi-finalist in the business accelerator competition. Our technology is environmentally-friendly, and provides significant dental and health benefits to consumers and professionals worldwide. The system can work with or obviate the need for x-rays while providing superior diagnosis of tissue conditions. Appropriate measurement yields tremendous information to the dentist. This information improves diagnosis, aids in better treatment, and allows for earlier detection of problems."
With the help of patent boutique firm Tran & Associates, Fovean's diagnostic technology for health determination based on vibrations imparted to tissues or teeth has been granted as U.S. patent 8,460,216 by the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Fovean's portfolio of intellectual property development has been accelerated using patent workflow solutions from PowerPatent Inc. Such tools enable Fovean to file quickly and benefit from the first-inventor-to-file provision of the American Invents Act (AIA).
