Alliance to bring game and content developers high speed delivery to the mobile market.

FrameFree Technologies, developers of a family of products that provide easy and efficient authoring and compression of motion imagery, today announced an alliance with HI CORPORATION, an international mobile content and middleware leader. The alliance will work to produce phone systems and software that merge HICorp.’s leading 3D mobile technology and the newly-launched FrameFree Studio technology, providing game and content developers worldwide a new and exciting platform for high speed content delivery to all mobile phones.

Released earlier this year, FrameFree Studio is the first digital imaging software that allows for the creation of compelling movies from still photographs without a steep learning curve or compromising quality at any bandwidth. Built on the world’s most advanced pixel-matching and interpolation engine, FrameFree Studio starts with two digital still images of any resolution, and through analysis, interpolation and morphing, automatically provides interactivity and smooth motion between them.

By combining FrameFree Studio with HICorp.’s MascotCapsule® product, a 3D rendering software engine that enables the real-time operation of applications displaying 3D graphics data on a multitude of devices, the companies will enhance the mobile entertainment experience on a variety of devices, including handheld gaming pads, PDAs and mobile phones.

“Integrating FrameFree Studio into MascotCapsule makes sense for a number of reasons, most importantly by helping us deliver motion imagery to mobile users in the most seamless and interactive way possible,” said Kazuo Kawabata, president and chief executive officer of HI Corp. “We are excited to work with FrameFree as its technology innovation is in-line with our overall product vision.”

MascotCapsule® enables sophisticated 3D applications to run effortlessly in hardware resource-constrained environments. Integrating FrameFree Studio with this technology provides the mobile market with immediate access to extremely advanced digital imaging software, and enables more realistic, dramatic and life-like 3D images. The latest version of MascotCapsule® complies with international standards M3G (JSR-184) and OpenGL ES, extending the development potential for applications.

“This partnership with HICorp. will open up entirely new avenues for game and content developers, said Thomas Randolph, president of FrameFree Technologies. “HICorp. is the perfect partner for us, as their technology has already shipped on more than 130 million handsets worldwide, proving their value in the marketplace.”
