A major marketing push by Miracle Method Surface Refinishing into the commercial sector has fueled the company’s strongest six-month period in its 32-year history. Already the nation’s leading bathtub, tile and countertop refinishing network, Chuck Pistor, Miracle Method’s President, added colleges and hospitals to the company’s marketing focus in 2011.

“We recognized that the work some of our offices were already doing for colleges and hospitals was just scratching the surface,” said Pistor. “We initiated a more aggressive marketing plan in 2011 and it’s paying dividends this year.” Company workshops focused on best practices for handling commercial customers and new processes were introduced to meet the demands of the commercial vs. residential customer. Pistor also promoted his Franchise Sales Director, Don Dominick, to Vice President of Business Development, to manage the program.    

“Attending college and hospital facility manager conferences gave us the opportunity to demonstrate how our process is a more affordable option to messy removal and replacement,” says Dominick. Over 140 leads were generated from recent ASHE and APPA conferences in July. “The response at the shows was overwhelming.” Trade shows are important, but it’s the follow-up programs that are generating the sales. The company uses the Internet, social media and direct marketing to create top of mind awareness for facility managers.

2011 ended with a 15% increase in sales over a record 2010, and a first half of 2012 that is 14% better than 2011! The forecast for the rest of the year is very bright, as show leads are turning into sales.        

The refinishing industry is growing and Miracle Method is the dominant leader. Pistor believes in momentum and will continue to stress business development. "We will continue to help our existing franchises capture market share and expand our capacity by selectively selling new franchises," says Pistor.
