Throngs of book fair book buyers and sellers gathered at the Galaxy Press booth, where they previewed several of the 153-story, 80-novel pulp fiction book titles published under the line Stories from the Golden Age.

The unique fiction book and audio book series includes adventures, westerns, mysteries, suspense thrillers, science fiction and fantasy stories written by Hubbard during the 1930s and 1940s. Each novel features original pulp art and illustrations from the pulp fiction period. Readers can choose from colorful titles such as Spy Killer, The Planet Makers, The Mad Dog Murder and Sabotage in the Sky.

"Our aim was to have the series reflect the authentic look and feel of the Golden Age of pulp fiction," said John Goodwin, President of Galaxy Press. "We're tying into the renewed interest in pulp fiction stories by Hollywood studios in many of today's top-grossing films."

In addition to the print versions, each book has its own audio book and has been produced as an unabridged, multi-cast recording featuring today's top audio-recording talent. Produced in the style of the radio dramas of the period, the audio recordings of the Golden Age Stories pulp classics also have original music scores and sophisticated sound effects. These are also available on disc and as downloads for music players.

"The Stories from the Golden Age series is an ambitious undertaking that has been several years in the making," said Goodwin. "Galaxy will be bringing these stories to an even greater audience today at the international level by making them available as printed and digital books as well as through audio entertainment."

New York Times bestseller L. Ron Hubbard is widely recognized as one of the most popular and most prolific authors during the peak of the pulp fiction era.

Pulp fiction magazines and the authors who wrote for them had millions of fans during the pulp fiction era. "None of the authors were more popular than L. Ron Hubbard, who was considered to be the quintessential pulp fiction author," said Goodwin. "Issues containing his byline or his many other pen names routinely saw a circulation increase of a minimum of 80,000 copies."
