Franklin University Announces New Interactive Media Design Completion Major

Franklin University is pleased to announce the addition of its new Interactive Media Design major to its on-campus and online offerings beginning in Fall 2010. Students in the Interactive Media Design Major at Franklin University will be able to transfer an associate’s degree or up to 24 core technical credits.

This cutting-edge major will build on acquired technical skills to allow students to become a designer, developer, or producer of interactive media.

Franklin University, a leading educator of working adults, is pleased to announce the addition of its new Interactive Media Design major to its on-campus and online offerings beginning in Fall 2010. Students in the Interactive Media Design Major at Franklin University will be able to transfer an associate's degree or up to 24 core technical credits towarda bachelor's degree.

A B.S. in Interactive Media Design from Franklin University will propel students into the world of designing mobile apps, creating dynamic web content, and managing multimedia projects. By gaining a balanced background in 3D graphics, visual communication, and the principles that apply to professional quality design, students will gain credibility in the flourishing interactive industry.

This cutting-edge major will build on acquired technical skills to allow students to become a designer, developer, or producer of interactive media. Students will apply the graphics, images, text, sound, video, and interactive skills needed in the creation of professional quality presentations, productions, and portfolios.

By earning a B.S. in Interactive Media Design from Franklin University, students will be able to apply technical and creative skills to:

  •     Manage the design and development process for interactive media projects
  •     Incorporate user experience in leading edge interactive media
  •     Produce interactive advertising and media training materials
  •     Create interactive media entertainment activities
  •     Apply team dynamics to collaborate effectively in design teams
  •     Communicate design strategies with poise and skill
  •     Develop a professional-quality personal portfolio

Graduates of Franklin’s Interactive Media Design Major will be well-qualified to hold positions as an advertising designer, instructional technology designer, interactive multimedia designer, media designer, mobile application designer, multimedia designer/animator, multimedia graphics designer for the web, multimedia project manager for the web, training designer, user experience design, or user interface (UI) designer.
