Franklin University Faculty Member Earns Fellow Status

Franklin University, a leading educator of working adults, is proud to announce Dr. Leslie Mathew, Program Chair, Healthcare Management, has passed the ACHE Board of Governor's exam, and combined with his years of leadership and professional development, has met all requirements to earn status as a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE).

Board certification in healthcare management signifies a commitment to excellence and professional development. Fellows are recognized by their healthcare management colleagues, employers, policymakers and professionals in other healthcare disciplines as competent leaders who strive to make a difference in the health of our communities both here and abroad.

Dr. Mathew will be recognized for his new designation and years of professional development and leadership as a healthcare executive at the upcoming 2014 ACHE Congress in Chicago, IL.

Dr. Leslie Mathew currently serves as the Chair for three undergraduate Healthcare Management Programs at Franklin University: Allied Healthcare Management, Healthcare Information Management, and Healthcare Management. Dr. Mathew brings vast experience in healthcare management in both the professional and academic fields. He pioneered and chaired Departments of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine in India and the Middle East. He has also worked as the Administrative Director of Operations at The Ohio State University Medical Center. Dr. Mathew has 25 years of senior leadership and management experience in higher education with proven results in building businesses, turning around operational challenges, and transitioning start-ups into world entities in the profit and non-profit sectors. He has taught at both the undergraduate and graduate levels in Healthcare and Business. Dr. Mathew completed his MD in 1979 from the University of Calcutta in India. He earned a Master’s Degree in Biotechnology Enterprise from Johns Hopkins University and an Executive MBA from The Ohio State University.
