Fleschner, Stark, Tanoos & Newlin continues fight against drunk driving by providing free cab rides home this New Year's Eve in Terre Haute and West Terre Haute, Indiana

The Safe and Sober Free Cab Ride Home program provides rides home to adults who otherwise might attempt to drive home after drinking.

The members of local law firm Fleschner, Stark, Tanoos & Newlin want to help their neighbors safely ring in the new year by covering cab fares for those who don't have safe rides home. Entering its second year of service, the firm's Safe and Sober Free Cab Ride Home program will be available on New Year's Eve in Terre Haute and West Terre Haute and provide rides to adults who otherwise might attempt to drive home after drinking.

The Safe and Sober Free Cab Ride Home program will be available in Terre Haute and West Terre Haute from 10 p.m. on Thursday, December 31, 2009, through 4 a.m. on Friday, January 1, 2010.

"Don't let one decision affect the rest of your life," said attorney Steve Fleschner. "Be responsible, plan ahead, and tell Yellow Cab the ride is on us."

To request a free cab ride home, call Yellow Cab of Terre Haute at (812) 478-5000 and tell them Fleschner Law is paying for your safe ride home.

•People must call Yellow Cab of Terre Haute and mention the program to get a free ride home.

•Cab rides are provided from a bar or restaurant to an individual's residence--not to other drinking locations.

•Due to the high number of ride requests on New Year's Eve, rides cannot be guaranteed for everyone who calls; however, every attempt will be made to accommodate all requests. Drivers have the right to use their discretion when accepting fares.

Launched on New Year's Eve 2008, the Safe and Sober Free Cab Ride Home program provides a safe transportation alternative during many of the traditionally high alcohol consumption holidays. Cab rides are made available on New Year's Eve, St. Patrick's Day, and Halloween to area residents who otherwise might attempt to drive home after drinking. Rides are provided to an individual's residence--not to other drinking locations.
