Freightquote.com, the nation’s 7th largest freight broker and leading provider of web-based freight logistic services, has been recognized for achievements in business information technology (IT) and listed among the nation’s most innovative business technology companies in the InformationWeek 500 report.

InformationWeek identifies and honors the nation's most innovative users of information technology with its annual 500 listing and also tracks the technology, strategies, investments and administrative practices of America’s best-known companies.

“Freightquote.com is proud to be recognized by Information Week for our IT successes this past year,” said Doug Grojean, Vice President Business Solutions of Freightquote.com. “As an Internet based company we see the value of the investment in IT infrastructure, processes, ideas and people.”

The InformationWeek 500 spotlights the power of innovation in information technology. The criteria used in the selection process is determined by InformationWeek editors. To make the InformationWeek 500 list, a company must demonstrate a pattern of technological, procedural, and organizational innovation. The InformationWeek 500 examines the technology strategies and initiatives of companies across 21 industries (excluding government and education).

“For 22 years, the InformationWeek 500 has honored the most innovative users of business technology,” said InformationWeek Editor In Chief Rob Preston. “As we start to emerge from the worst recession in decades, the IT focus is now on driving growth—new sources of revenue, new relationships with customers, even new business models. This year’s ranking placed special emphasis on those companies and business technology executives leading that charge.”

The InformationWeek 500 list for 2010 was revealed on September 14th, at a gala awards ceremony at the exclusive InformationWeek 500 Conference taking place at the St. Regis Monarch Beach Resort in Dana Point, California.
