From baseball to BBQ, whatever the guests’ passion, French Lick Resort has something to offer this summer. Signature events include the 2010 PGA Professionals National Championship (June 27-30), Vintage Baseball World Series (July 10-11), July 4th All American Weekend, Cool Cars, Hot Summer Nights Classic Car Show (July 31-Aug 1) and a KCBS-sanctioned Blues, Cruise & BBQ Cook-off (August 13-14). In addition to these signature events, guests can find 50 different things to do every week through August 31.

KidsFest, the resort’s program for children 6-12, is back again for its third year. Three activities a day are offered Wednesday thru Sunday. Old favorites like KidCooks, Hey Dude Ranch and Hoosier Safari are returning along with several new adventures including:

Developed to inspire the creative spirit of young artists, this program allows kids to make fun “gallery worthy” art while teaching them about color theories, blending techniques and styles of famous artists. They even get to create scribble art, bubble art and more.

Movies, Music and Me
Kids can be a part of the movies (such as “High School Musical” or “Hannah Montana”) and actually learn the dance numbers as they participate in a fun and interactive movie experience. A pizza dinner is also included.

KidsFest Carnival
The KidsFest building is transformed into a fun carnival atmosphere for this activity. Children can enjoy crazy carnival games while dining on boardwalk treats like funnel cakes, corn dogs and cotton candy. They will have a grand ole time and might walk away with a prize, or two.

First-time guests are encouraged to visit the KidsFest Open House every Wednesday and Friday from 5-6 pm to learn about all the offerings.

Teens (13 and over) have a new hangout at the resort called Pluto’s Teen Club. The "no adults hangout" in the bowling alley has popular video games, dance music, snack foods and even a few “mocktails.”

Geo Caching is also very popular with the teens. Offered every Wednesday thru Saturday from 6-8pm, the GPS-based treasure hunting game can be played in groups or on an individual basis.

Family Fun

Families will find plenty to do both at the resort and in the surrounding area. A newly-launched Excursions program offers six area daytrip suggestions to Amish Country, Holiday World, Spring Mill State Park, Marengo Cave, Patoka Lake and the Jasper/Ferdinand area. Informational cards are available at the Concierge desk.
All ages will enjoy the Parlor Magic shows available on select Friday and Saturday evenings at 8pm. On Sunday afternoons, families will want to take in the Ice Cream Social on the Veranda of the West Baden Springs Hotel. The old-fashioned tradition will feature cool treats and entertaining music from a barbershop quartet.

The resort is excited to be adding Summer Nights, live music and dancing on the French Lick Springs Hotel Terrace, on select Saturday nights. Live bands will play under the stars from 8pm until midnight.
Guests will also be treated to live music in a variety of locations throughout the resort. Whether it’s a deejay at the pool, jazz in the Power Plant or a Dixieland Band on the porch, there will be plenty of musical entertainment to enjoy.

The French Lick Springs Hotel is offering a “Hello Summer” package through July 31.Guests can stay two nights and get a resort credit of $100.
