The Onder Law Firm, known for its handling of medical products lawsuits nationwide, has launched a new website explaining the Fresenius recall and the suspeccted causation behind Fresenius heart attack deaths.
Fresenius solutions are used with a dialysis machine to cleanse the blood of toxic waste materials. Fresenius Naturalyte Liquid Acid Concentrate and Naturalyte GranuFlo Acid Concentrate were recalled by the FDA on June 27, 2012. Prior to which the New York Times reported sent an internal memo in 2011 to health directors and attending physicians warning that GranuFlo could increase the level of bicarbonate in the bloodstream, increasing the risk of heart attack, but did not report this information to the FDA or warn its patients (nytimes.com/2012/06/15/health/fda-investigates-fresenius-for-failure-to-warn-of-risk.html). Fresenius Medical Care of North America is the largest operator of dialysis clinics in the United States with approximately 1,800 locations.
