Freya Active, one of the UK’s leading sports bra brands, have played a supporting role at the National Schools Netball Tournament. The event, held at Basildon Sports Village on 17th March, featured a Freya Active Bra Booth. Here, Freya experts offered sports bra fittings and breast health advice to players, as well as stressing the importance of wearing a sports bra that provides maximum hold and support.

When playing sport, correct sports bra support is so important and we are working hard on getting this across to the younger generation. Taking part in the National Schools Netball Tournament was a fantastic opportunity for us.

Freya Active are a division of Freya lingerie, who offer a wide range of bra styles, such as balcony bras up to a K cup. Freya Active are also an Official Sports Bra Supplier to the England Netball Squad, the current FastNet World Champions. It is this partnership that has led to Freya Active spreading the good fit message to the schools tournament’s 650 U16 and U19 players. At The Bra Booth, players got to check that they were wearing the correct bra size and were provided with a wealth of advice, discussing why wearing a regular bra during sports would always fail to deliver the right support.

Ann Marie Manley, Head of Marketing at Freya Active said: “When playing sport, correct sports bra support is so important and we are working hard on getting this across to the younger generation. Taking part in the National Schools Netball Tournament was a fantastic opportunity for us. We were able to educate and introduce many young people to sports bras and the benefits of wearing one. With such a high number of schools in attendance from nearly every UK region, we hope the message of wearing a sports bra during exercise will be taken more seriously and be given more consideration in future.”

In addition to supporting the National Schools Netball Tournament, Freya Active are supporting the Back To Netball scheme. This programme, promoted by England Netball, provides a gentle introduction to the sport for women over sixteen. A lot of girls have played netball at a younger age and subsequently left it behind. Back To Netball encourages those who are no longer playing to reappraise the sport and get involved once again, with schemes right across the UK.

Freya Active’s support for English netball at all levels goes hand-in-hand with their commitment to offering sports bras that support the wearer in the best possible way. Their non-compression, bust separation sports bras deliver unrivalled fit and comfort up to an H cup. And Freya Active hope that playing a supporting role at events such as the National Schools Netball Tournament will help educate women about the importance of maintaining good breast health during sport.
