The California Navel oranges we chose are considered the best in the world for eating out of hand
Vancouver, WA (PRWEB) December 3, 2008
GiftTree.com, a leading online retailer of gift baskets and gifts, has ventured into shipped fruit gifts with the addition of two value-priced fruit boxes to their gift line, just in time for the holidays. Both gifts contain premium fruit, perfectly packaged along side delicious snacks.
Both fruit boxes include seasoned almonds and chocolate enrobed fruit. The difference in the two gifts is the amount of fruit. The Harvest Fruit & Snacks Sampler, retailing for a reasonable $27.95, has six pieces of fruit, two each of Fuji apples, Comice pears, and California navel oranges. The Premium Fruit & Snacks Sampler retails for $34.95 and has nine pieces, three each, of the same fruit.
"The fruit boxes are beautiful and are a great value. We only use premium fruit in our gift boxes and typically we can offer much better product than will be available in the local area through a grocer," said Craig Bowen, co-founder and CEO of GiftTree.com.
"Many of our customers requested more healthy gifts and the fruit boxes are a great option for that, while still including a little bit of sweets. I am excited we have been able to add the fruit boxes this year," said Jennifer Crego, the director of business development.
"Last year, we received quite a few requests for healthy products in the $30 to $40 range," Bowen stated. "Our corporate customers have been especially pleased with our new fruit boxes for holiday gifts. After just one day of sales, it already looks like these gifts are a hit!"
According to Judy Liebe, the director of design and product development, the Fuji apples and Comice pears are harvested in the Pacific Northwest. "The California Navel oranges we chose are considered the best in the world for eating out of hand," Liebe stated. "The segments separate easily and they have no seeds. The Comice pears are known as the pinnacle of pears and are the sweetest and juiciest of all varieties of pears. Their flesh is very soft and is often described as creamy in texture. The Fuji apples are super sweet, super juicy and super crisp. They are excellent for snacking, salads and sauce," said Liebe.
"The design of the first GiftTree fruit box is very bold, and yet very simple at the same time," said Doug Anderson, the creative director at GiftTree.com. "The right side of the box is a very rich, aubergine color. The left side of the box is a very rich, dense apple green. The green is exactly the color of a ripe Granny Smith apple. These colors were chosen for their prevalence in nature, and for their bold, hyper saturated look," said Anderson. "We are confident that our customers will find the fruit as rich and delicious as the packaging."
