In the face of a substantial year-over-year increase in bed bug infestation reports, the treatment industry is experiencing both an opportunity and a challenge. The increase offers plenty of business for bed bug response teams, but the difficulty in permanently dealing with even a small infestation leads many consumers to question the efficacy of treatments that require multiple applications and offers few guarantees.
Into this ongoing battle has stepped Heatsolete, founded by a Toronto-area landlord tired of dealing with repeat applications of abrasive chemicals and steam treatments for his tenants’ bed bug reports. Heatsolete makes use of a new, domestically-manufactured heat-based treatment that is demonstrably faster, 100% effective, and more efficient than alternative methods. The treatment is based on equipment that heats the affected area to between 49 and 65 degrees (120-150 degrees Fahrenheit) without using propane, which would necessitate open windows and thus extend the cost and duration of the treatment. This temperature level is sufficient to kill bed bugs, which are otherwise quite hardy, and works fast enough that bugs die instantly @ 130 degrees Fahrenheit. Heat kills bed bugs period.
The final and most essential component to the treatment is a thermal imagining camera, which gives the company the ability to confirm that areas treated have achieved a bare minimum temperature ensuring the complete eradication of not only bugs & their eggs but also mold, mildew & air borne pathogens. Those dust mites that you have in your bed, their dead also. This unique detection process assures the resident, lending valuable peace of mind to those who have required the service.
Heatsolete has recently joined the FS Local community of small, locally-based businesses, and has consequently managed to have a larger impact on the bed bug battle through a combination of enhanced outreach and education along with its unique advanced heat-based solutions.
Heatsolete is the first company in Ontario with this highly advanced technology. A Toronto area pest control company using the Integrated Pest Management System focusing almost exclusively on bed bug prevention, detection, and eradication. They offer education & awareness in preventative maintenance along with highly advanced heat-based technology and treatment services for the entire GTA.
