SAI Global helps organizations with audit, certification and training
Cleveland, Ohio (PRWEB) May 05, 2011
SAI Global announces the release of an all new training course, Understanding and Implementing the FSSC 22000 Food Safety Management System.
This information-packed course is intended to review the detailed requirements of the FSSC 22000 Food Safety Certification scheme and lay out a plan of action for implementing a food safety management system in organization. It is desirable but not essential for attendees to have some knowledge of basic food safety and quality management system.
The course covers a wide range of topics that help participants to learn about this food safety management system in details and understand the importance of GFSI standard, such as FSSC 22000, to be in place when working with retailers.
The first part of the session defines a food safety management system and explains the benefits of establishing it. As FSSC 22000 has been approved by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI), it allows companies that achieve certification to meet the requirements of several global retailers or major branded food companies under a single, internally recognized food safety management system. An appropriate structure of a food safety management system (using FSSC 22000) is also described.
The second part of the workshop describes the fundamental requirements of ISO 22000:2005, including HACCP principles and the application steps developed by the Codex Alimentarius Commission. The FSSC 22000 specifies the comprehensive requirements of ISO 22000:2005 and the additional components outlined in PAS 220 for a food safety management system where an organization needs to demonstrate its ability to control food safety hazards in order to have assurance that food is safe at the time of consumption.
In the third part of the session attendees will learn how the FSSC 22000 certification scheme may be effectively applied within their own organization. The course will also provide a step-by-step introduction to the implementation of a food safety management system through a practical series of hands-on activities and case studies. The course instructor will also help to identify processes that must be controlled and improved.
Furthermore, course participants will get more information about dates, timelines and documentation process towards achieving certification.
The first course will be offered publically in the Chicago area on May 23 – 24th. Other dates will be announced soon. The course can also be privately conducted at any facility in-house for a group of employees that require this training. In-house training can provide substantial cost savings depending on the number of class attendees and can be customized to focus specific points to your organization.
Cost of the two days Understanding and Implementing the FSSC 22000 Food Safety Management System course is $1,199. By signing up 60 days or more in advance attendees receive an early bird discount of 15%.
In addition to this course, SAI Global invites to watch a complimentary recorded webinar on the FSSC 22000 Food Safety System certification. This webinar provides an overview of the standard presented by the FSSC 22000 Chairman of Board. This is a great starting point for FSSC 22000 training. Download Now!
