Full Sail University Named 'Best Company' in The Orlando Business Journal's 2009 Reader's Choice Awards

Today, Full Sail University (http://www.fullsail.edu), was named "Best Company" in the Orlando Business Journal's 2009 Reader's Choice Awards.

Today, Full Sail University (http://www.fullsail.edu), was named "Best Company" in the Orlando Business Journal's 2009 Reader's Choice Awards.

Full Sail received votes in multiple categories, and was selected as best company throughout all of Orlando and Central Florida. Last year, Darden Restaurants held the same honor. Currently, Full Sail is celebrating its 30th anniversary year and serves more than 8,000 students in both online and on-campus degree programs, and employs over 1,450 staff and faculty. Since it's founding in 1979, Full Sail has graduated over 33,000 students.

In 2006, Full Sail had an economic impact in Central Florida of $400 million as reported by The Washington Economics Group, and a projected total five-year impact of $2.7 billion. In addition, it was concluded that Full Sail was responsible for 3,500 direct and indirect employment positions in the region with a projection to grow to 6,000 positions over five years.

In 2008, Full Sail was also named the "School/College of the Year" by the Florida Association of Postsecondary Schools and Colleges, and in addition, the university has been previously named: The Harvard of Game Schools by Tips & Tricks Magazine; one of the top three New Media Schools by Shift Magazine (alongside the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and New York University); one of the Top Five Game Degree Programs in the world by Electronic Gaming Monthly; one of the Best Music Programs in the country by Rolling Stone Magazine; one of the Best Music Business Departments in the Schools That Rock: The Rolling Stone College Guide; and one of the Best Film Programs in the country by UNleashed Magazine.
