The Girl Scouts in York, Pennsylvania, kicked off their Healthy Promise healthy living program this month with a “day of play” and physical activities. In conjunction with the event, Massage School San Diego, a promoter of massage schools in San Diego and healthy living, has released a list of fun, yet challenging, physical activities for young children.
Earlier this week, 450 Girl Scouts in York Pennsylvania, launched their Healthy Promise program at the Central York High School with a day of physical activities. The girls danced, did track and field drills, tried rock climbing, and participated in softball and soccer drills. Softball and track activities were run by the athletic teams at York College, while local team Soccer Shots coordinated the soccer drills. Participants also learned how to read nutrition labels and to make healthy food choices.
Following the Healthy Promise kick-off event, Massage School San Diego has put together a list of activities that are both fun and healthy for young children:
The Girl Scouts, more formally known as the Girl Scouts of the United States of America, is an organization that aims to build character in and empower young girls. As part of the organization, girls earn badges for learning practical skills, such as first aid, community service and more. The organization was formed in 1912 and has a current membership of more than 2.3 million youth and 878,000 adults.
