Portland, OR (PRWEB) March 17, 2009 -- Valley of Life, an online memorial and remembrance service based in West Hills, California, announces the availability of its new Funeral Notice service. The memorial tribute site has expanded to include a free online service allowing family members to send a detailed funeral notice to friends, relatives and acquaintances.

"We wanted to be able to do more to help families as they plan a funeral service for a loved one," said Valley of Life founder Miri Rossitto. "Sometimes, sending out death announcements or funeral notices can seem like a daunting task as families are grieving. This new feature gives families an easy-to-use and respectful way to let others know about an upcoming memorial."

Valley of Life provides a safe and loving environment for loved ones and friends to tell the "Life Story" of someone who has passed away. Any visitor to the site can register for a free account and build a custom online memorial for their loved one. The new funeral notice feature is integrated seamlessly into the existing online memorial service so users of one can easily add the other to their loved one's page. Valley of Life also offers an online memorial album and video uploads.

The free funeral notice allows members to add a loved one's photo, detailed obituary, and remembrance poem or other personal touches. Users can also add the details of the funeral service (location, date, time, special instructions) to help family members make arrangements to attend a memorial. The email addresses of family and friends can easily be imported from any mail account, including Yahoo!, Gmail, AOL, and MSN. The service also includes links to send flowers or memorial gifts in the event that a recipient of the notice cannot attend.

"We wanted to help families that are spread out across the United States and even the world stay in touch and share information during tough moments like a death in the family," said Rossitto.

Valley of Life also offers comprehensive information on end-of-life planning, funeral service planning, grief/bereavement services, and gifts and flowers.

About Valley of Life
Valley of Life has a simple mission - to create a safe and loving environment where families and friends can pay tribute to those that they have loved and lost. It was started in the fall of 2006 after the founder, Miri Rossitto lost her mother. Respecting her mother's wishes to not carry out a traditional funeral service, Miri created the site as a way to honor her mother and allow those that knew her to do the same. Valley of Life strives to be a means to healing during the grieving process as well as a long-term way to honor loved ones no matter where in the world life may take you.
