Sheado.net regularly releases free wallpapers in order to promote upcoming updates for Furdiburb®, the most popular virtual pet game in the Google Play Store. Furdiburb is a baby alien whose parents accidentally left him behind on Earth one day. Players adopt him and can customize houses and furniture for their pet, surf the stars for credits, dodge bugs, play challenging musical games, plant flowers, go fishing, craft items, and mutate their pet for different looks.
For the past three years, Sheado.net released regular updates that contained puzzles or a mini-game in conjunction with a spaceship part. With these parts, players may gradually fix up the broken spaceship and send the virtual pet back home one day.
"The wallpapers act as teasers for each update", commented Danny Ata, co-founder and artist. "This is our way of showing a bit of our progress and what to expect in the new version, but we cannot give away too much. We want to surprise fans with the update because that's really rewarding. Although, one time I hid a crafting recipe in the image as a reward to those who pay attention to details."
"For the new version, I took the opportunity to make a wallpaper that would get our fans' curiosity going for the next quest. The Totem gives away just enough for people to speculate on what new discovery is to be made. Will it be alien, animal, or paranormal?"
Furdiburb, the virtual pet, will be out of beta in Winter 2012.
