Come and join us on the 2nd October for our Open Day

East Durham College is a leading further education college offering courses for school leavers, adult learning as well as staff training for employers.

The Autumn Fayre & Open Day will be taking place on Saturday 2nd October from 10am until 1pm and is a result of the huge success of the Open Day & Spring Fair which happened earlier this year. The Autumn event is the perfect opportunity for local people to have a look around the beautiful campus, investigate the facilities on offer and enquire about any courses they may be interested in, and last but not least, to have a great family day out!

The event is also an ideal opportunity for year 11 pupils and their families to get a feel for the college and ask any questions they may have on the further education options they have available to them after their GCSE’s.

There are plenty of activities and demonstrations to keep everyone entertained, from dog agility displays, face painting, airbrush tattoos, to a bouncy slide and tea cups ride for the more adventurous. For music lovers the group drumming tuition is a must, and for all those glamour-pusses the free make-overs will be just what the doctor ordered!

Here’s a full list of all the fun activities that will be happening on the day:
Big inflatable slide
Kiddies toy ride (Teacups)
Face painting & airbrush tattoos

Computer gaming

Best of all the activities are all completely free - but there will be the chance to support the local arts and crafts stalls that will be selling a range of items from hand-made candles and cards, beautiful jewellery through to mouth-watering jams and chutneys.

Here is an extensive run-down of the craft stalls that will be featuring at the fayre:
Paintings and decorative candles

Natural nail care and products
Children’s knitwear
Glass and bead jewellery

And as a special treat the North Wings Parachute Display Team will be dropping in (as long as the weather is fine).

If any of the family get peckish there will be a variety of refreshments and ice creams available as well.
