Gables Residential named as a finalist for NAHB Annual Pillar Award. Categories selected as a finalist include Best Overall Leasing Campaign for Gables Takoma Park in Washington, D.C., and Best Brochure; More Living campaign for Gables 5th Street Commons in Austin, TX

Creativity in design and a clear understanding of the entrants’ local markets characterized this year’s entries

The National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) recognized Gables Residential among the top trend-setters in the multifamily housing industry, as part of its annual Pillars of the Industry Awards program promoting excellence in apartment design, development, management and marketing.

This year’s finalists were announced during a teleconference and will be showcased virtually with NAHB Multifamily’s new venue for the Pillars Awards – the Internet. Gables Residential and other innovative multifamily communities will be highlighted at http://www.nahb.org/pillarsawards. The winner for each award will be selected during an online presentation to be held in October.

“Creativity in design and a clear understanding of the entrants’ local markets characterized this year’s entries,” said Charles R. Brindell, Jr., President and CEO of Trammel Crow Residential, and chair of NAHB’s Multifamily Leadership Board. “The results are outstanding apartments and condos that their residents will take pride in for years to come.”

Finalists were selected for superior achievement in 27 categories, including Best Overall Leasing Campaign and Best Brochure. Gables Takoma Park in Washington, D.C. was selected as a finalist for Best Overall Leasing Campaign for its focus on sustainability. Your Shade of Green was trademarked and established as the main tagline of the Gables Takoma Park marketing campaign. Supporting marketing materials noted the high standards of the project, promoted a green approach and detailed the distinctive lifestyle of the community. The attractive and eye-catching contemporary campaign design conveyed a strong message about Gables focus towards green development and the benefits and unique qualities of living in a green community. In addition, Gables discovered new eco-friendly materials and products that they were are able to adapt to their other marketing programs, helping fulfill their commitment to implementing green initiatives. Robinson Creative in Dallas, Texas is the agency of record for the Urban Green campaign. Gables 5th Street Commons is a finalist for Best Brochure. The More Living brochure has a unique shape and format that captures the eye but allows for multiple functions – from office marketing collateral to special event materials to an informational mailer. The simple and contemporary use of the design space is an authentic representation of the modern aesthetics of the Gables 5th Street Commons building and residences. The mixed-use design of the community is conveyed through compelling imagery directed at its target audience of young, trendsetting working professionals. The Reynolds Group of Atlanta, Georgia is the agency of record. Both campaigns are certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), used soy ink and recyclable contents in printing.
