As the Galveston Bay area gears up for prime fishing season in the next couple months, local fishing guide service, FishGalvestonBay.com is urging people to book prime days now before the spots fill up. Captain C. R. Maher is FishGalvestonBay.com’s USCG licensed guide who grew up fishing Galveston Bay and the surrounding areas and works hard to make each client’s fishing experience one to remember.

“The weather is changing and the fish are starting to bite, especially the specks and redfish,” says Capt. Maher. “Some pretty large takes have been reported, so it's that time of the year to book your fishing trip now!”

Captain Maher takes clients aboard his 24' ZX Bay Skeeter, powered by a 250hp Yamaha to get clients safely to where the trout, redfish and flounder are biting.

FishGalvestonBay.com’s services include:

  •     Drift or wade fishing year round

Guided trip rates are:

  •     $300 ½ day (four hrs.) up to two people
  •     $400 full day (eight hrs.) up to two people
  •     $75 for each additional person up to four

Lodging and entertainment are offered at Oak Island Lodge, a 5,800 sq. ft. facility specifically designed for corporate and group events, located on the east side of Trinity Bay. The lodge can sleep up to 36 persons, is fully staffed with cooking, cleaning, and bartending personnel, and offers a fine view of the sun setting across the bay. Each room has its own bathroom and lodging comes with three meals, snacks, drinks and open use of the entire facility. The lodge also has two lighted piers and eight covered boatlifts for guests to enjoy excellent nighttime or daytime fishing.
