In his latest blog post, John admits that he has been a Total War fan for a while, but has never gotten into the modding side of the game.

“I’ve tried the Darth Mods and such but never knew you could download mods that basically give you an entirely new game,” he says.

He goes on to mention that the ACW mod for Empire Total War changes everything about the game and its mechanics. John believes that, had someone not been told that a mod had been used, they could be led to believe that it is a totally new game.

The mod is totally free to download and, as John believes, has so much detail that it is as close to the Civil War as anyone will get.

“Not to mention the hours it took to put this all together. Personally, I think this should have been sold to SEGA, polished, and released as an expansion. I would easily pay $50 for this game,” John adds.

He explains that, if someone does not yet own Empire Total War, it can be found these days at a very affordable price.

John makes it clear to his readers that he highly recommends that they install and try the mod for themselves.
