Need Gas, Play a Game at WinGasCard.com

When people need it most, a casual game company is offering gas cards as prizes in their free to play online game.

Charlotte, NC (PRWEB) April 29, 2008 -- "You can't always get what you want," the Rolling Stones sang, "but sometimes, you get what you need." That's the impetus behind one online casual game company's increasingly popular promotional game where the prizes are Exxon gas cards worth $500 and $50. The site, www.WinGasCard.com, is a product of the AdverGame Network, a Charlotte, NC based online video advertising company that has developed a unique niche in the casual game sector, one of the most popular on the Internet.

With oil prices still rising, an online casual game offers gas cards as prizes.
With oil prices still rising, an online casual game offers gas cards as prizes.

According to a Parks Associates report, 34% of U.S. Internet households play online games on a weekly basis, compared with 29% who watch short online videos and 19% who visit social networking sites with the same frequency.

"We don't just want to be fun," says Matt Coapman, the company's vice president of business development, "we want to be pertinent as well."

That's not to say that the AdverGame Network isn't giving people what they want as well.

"We already had game sites giving away high desire items like $700 designer handbags and Wii game consoles," added Coapman. "We've given away iPods and Las Vegas vacations, MacBook laptops and digital cameras. That's what people want. For this one, we felt the urgency to give people something they needed."

There's no cost to consumers as all AdverGame Network game sites are free-to-play.

It's a winning situation for advertisers and sponsors as well. A video player adjacent to the game is always on screen, streaming advertisements and content geared towards the audience that the prize attracts.

"There's nothing like it in the market. We offer prizes that attract a particular demographic," says Coapman, admitting though that the current gas card game is universally popular. The designer handbags attracted a strong female audience while the Wii games skewed more towards younger males.

The free gas card game runs through June 29th and offers second chance drawings as well as instant win opportunities. The game is not sponsored by Exxon Mobil Corp.

"We work with great companies in creating these fun games that also offer great benefit to the consumer," says Coapman. "But for this one, given the way gas prices are skyrocketing, we wanted to get it up fast and didn't want to wait for a sponsor. We chose to buy Exxon cards for the giveaway because of their national footprint, which would make it more available to our winners."

"That said, we would love to talk with them or any other oil company that wants to help people out in a fun way until prices come down. Until then, this is our way of giving back," states Coapman.
