Adrift Adventures, a wilderness whitewater rafting company in Dinosaur National Monument, has announced commercial launch dates for Gates of Lodore multi-day rafting trips on the Green River to span June 26 – September 7, 2013.

The authorized concessionaire of the National Park Service will offer four-day expeditions through Gates of Lodore to launch June 26, June 28, July 5, July 11, July 15, July 20, July 21, July 26, August 5, August 8, August 15, August 23, August 30 and September 7, 2013, according to Jenny Biggs, operations manager at Adrift Adventures.

“Gates of Lodore is a great combination of colorful landscapes, diverse history and fun whitewater,” Biggs said. “Since the flows are controlled by Flaming Gorge Dam we can offer this awesome rafting trip all summer long.”

This section of the Green River meanders 44 miles, starting at Gates of Lodore in northwestern Colorado and ending at Split Mountain Campground in northeast Utah, all in the wilderness of Dinosaur National Monument, according to Biggs.

“There are no roads along this section of the Green River, so food and gear is packed on rafts and brought to a remote camp each night,” Biggs explained. “Leave no trace camping is essential to keep the Green River pristine.”

Food from first day to last day lunch, dry bags, kitchen equipment, portable toilets, trash receptacles, privacy tents and hand-washing stations are provided and sleeping bags, pads and tents are available for rent, according to Eileen Peterson, general manager at Adrift Adventures. She said prices for these Gates of Lodore multi-day rafting trips are $785 per adult and $250 per child 12 and under.

“These family-friendly Green River multi-day rafting trips are all-inclusive,” Peterson explained. “We can create exclusive launch dates that are closed off to the public with a minimum of six people or you can jump on one of our existing trips.”

Launch dates for Gates of Lodore in Dinosaur National Monument are set by the National Parks Service. A $200 per person deposit is due at time of booking, according to Peterson.

Adrift Adventures has provided fully guided rafting trips in Dinosaur National Monument since 1980. Choose from one-day and four-day rafting trips on the Green River; and four and five-day rafting trips on the Yampa River. Daily rafting trips start in mid-May and are offered through Labor Day.
