Guilmartin, DiPiro & Sokolowski, LLC (GDS), a certified public accounting firm located on Main Street, is pleased to announce the appointment of Teresa Opalacz to Partner effective March 31, 2010. In her new position she will be responsible for quality control, staff development and client audit compliance services.

We are thrilled to have such a competent and experienced CPA in the partnership. She brings a perspective to the firm that has enhanced not only our compliance with reporting standards but how we approach audits.

Guilmartin, DiPiro & Sokolowski, LLC (GDS), a certified public accounting firm located on Main Street, is pleased to announce the appointment of Teresa Opalacz to Partner effective March 31, 2010. In her new position she will be responsible for quality control, staff development and client audit compliance services.

Ms. Opalacz has consulted with GDS since 2001 and has over 20 years experience as a CPA. An active member of the local business community, she is the first Vice President of the Middlesex County Chamber of Commerce and will assume the role of Chairman of the Board of Directors at the start of the new term on July 1, 2010.

A graduate of Holy Cross College, Ms. Opalacz began her career with Coopers & Lybrand in their Boston office. She later moved to the Hartford office where she became a partner of that firm, and subsequently moved to PricewaterhouseCoopers where she specialized in not-for-profit, higher education and telecommunications. She left PwC in 2001 to raise her family but continued with financial consulting in technical accounting issues and financial matters.

Ms. Opalacz is active in many community and volunteer efforts. She serves on the Board of Trustees of Mercy High School, is a Corporator of Middlesex Hospital, and was formerly on the boards of United Cerebral Palsy and United Way. She also is an instructor for the youth group at the Polish Falcons, on the education committee of the Parents Organization for District 13, and serves as a member of the Cochinchaug Soccer Board. Ms. Opalacz coaches soccer, basketball and softball in Durham where she resides with her husband and three children.
