A person only gets one chance to win their personal injury case, and so they need to make sure that they take the proper steps in order to ensure that they achieve a successful outcome.

Throughout his more than 20 years of representing accident victims across Georgia and the Southeast, Scott Monge frequently has seen the same mistakes made in personal injury cases. It inspired him to write a new book.

The veteran Georgia injury lawyer and founder of The Accident & Disability Attorneys of Monge & Associates says he hopes people will read the book, Five Killers of Personal Injury Cases, and understand how to avoid pitfalls that can ultimately cost them the right to compensation in a personal injury case.

“I thought it would be helpful to draw on my experiences in the trenches of personal injury law and illustrate how these mistakes are made and what the consequences can be,” said Monge, whose Georgia personal injury and wrongful death law firm has secured millions of dollars for its clients in a wide variety of cases, including car crashes and slip-and-fall accidents.

“A person only gets one chance to win their personal injury case, and so they need to make sure that they take the proper steps in order to ensure that they achieve a successful outcome,” Monge said.

“When you or a loved one has been hurt through no fault of your own, you need to make sure you obtain the funds you need and deserve to pay for your medical expenses, lost wages and other losses.”

One mistake, for instance, is speaking to the at-fault party’s insurance company after an accident occurs without first seeking legal advice and representation, Monge said.

“It’s not uncommon for insurance companies to contact a victim shortly after an accident,” he said. “The insurance company will be out to find as much information as it can to minimize what it pays, so whatever you say could come back to haunt you. Instead, you should politely decline to provide any statements and contact an accident attorney right away.

“The book goes into great detail in this area and others,” Monge said. “We hope it will serve as a valuable resource to those who find themselves in the unfortunate situation of being an accident victim, and it will help set them on the path to securing relief.”

The release date for the book has not yet been announced. Monge suggests checking the firm’s website at http://www.gainjury.com for a future announcement and information on how to order a copy.
